Michael Maisano, instructor in the College of Integrative Sciences and Arts’ School of Counseling and Counseling Psychology and ASU ROTC advisor on mental health, was interviewed in October 2023 by ASU student veteran Zach Woomer ’25 BS, Veterans Administration work study in OVMAE. Maisano served 15 years in the United States Marine Corps and the Arizona Army National Guard.

The Wright stuff: new director of Office for Veteran and Military Academic Engagement is also a teaching professor, researcher and sustainability advocate

Wright is the director of ASU’s Office for Veteran and Military Academic Engagement (OVMAE), a teaching professor in the College of Integrative Sciences and Arts, and most recently, named by the Veterans Administration (VA) secretary to be the new chair for the VA Advisory Committee on Women Veterans and selected to be in the next class of Arizona Veteran Hall of Fame inductees.

Kermit Brown, assistant teaching professor in the College of Integrative Sciences and Arts, was interviewed by Retired Col. Wanda A. Wright, OVMAE director, in August 2023. Wright, who began her role as director of ASU’s Office for Veteran and Military Academic Engagement in June, has been getting to know the many affiliated faculty, partners and student veterans who support or engage with OVMAE’s academic programs and community events.
