Veteran Imagination Project (VIP)

We are proud to collaborate with ASU’s Center for Science and the Imagination on the Veterans Imagination Project (VIP), a research-based intervention designed to improve individual and social factors of the military-to-civilian transition process with the tools of futures thinking, narrative development, and visual art.

Developed by Marine Corps veteran Bob Beard and informed by a network of scholars and partners across ASU and around the nation, VIP’s methods equip participants with skills and cognitive tools to develop new social bonds after leaving the military; identify new purpose(s) after years of service; and reintegrate into the broader community by shaping and sharing stories of post-service success.

The program was financially supported by a grant by ASU Women and Philanthropy and has been featured on KJZZ Radio, Arizona PBS, and Slate Magazine.
