We have successfully piloted the ASU Veterans Imagination Project (VIP) this spring. Three ASU student veterans, who also hold work-study positions in the Pat Tillman Veterans Center, completed the seven-week project.
The program included the study of narrative foresight, futures thinking, and collaborative imagination, which involved work with a concept artist to visually imagine what their future in their chosen profession could look like. This project design was a collaboration of OVMAE director Manuel Aviles-Santiago and Bob Beard, program manager for ASU’s Center for Science and the Imagination.
Our short-term goal is to offer this program annually, engaging 15-20 ASU veteran-students each year. In the long term, we aim to expand within and beyond ASU.
